An Equilibrium and A Stability of Toroidal Plasma with a Small Aspect Ratio.

Abstract

Toroidal equilibrium and its stability of MHD plasma with a small aspect ratio are examined analytically under the assumption that the distribution of plasma pressure is liner or quadratic in stream function.
The existence of stable equilibrium configuration is shown by using the energy principle.
