Abstract

Experiments on plasma heating due to large amplitude ion cyclotro waves are excited by means of a low inductunce condenser discharge. An appreciable heating of plasma is observed under the Stix coil, which seems to be attributed to a non-linear effect heating of large amplitude ion cyclotron waves.
