Structure of Ions and Plasma Spectroscopy

Abstract

Recent theoretical and experimental investigations on the structure for multicharged ions in connection with the plasma spectroscopy are reviewed. It is emphasized that the relativistic and quantum electrodynamical (QED) effects as well as the electron correlation effects on their energy levels and transition probabilities must properly taken into account when analyzing spectra observed.
