Abstract
Brassinosteroid (BR) have been thought to be related to auxin actions. We used DNA microarray (Gene Chip, Affymetrix) to analyze BR and auxin regulated genes comprehensively. We have identified 77 early auxin inducible genes and 93 early BR inducible genes. P450 genes and transcription factor genes predominated among early BR down-regulated genes. Auxin-related genes and Cell elongation related genes predominated among early BR up-regulated genes. Ammonium transport protein (AMT1), trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase (AtTPPB), and 10 unknown proteins were identified early auxin down regulated genes. Early auxin up regulated genes were classified into 6 functional classes: 1) AUX/IAA, SAUR, and GH3 family genes; 2) signal transduction related genes; 3) Cell elongation related genes; 4) transcription factor genes; 5) Ethylene biosynthase related genens; 6) genes of unknown function. Furthermore 12 genes were also up regulated by BR stimulation. This group included AUX/IAA, SAUR, and GH3 family genes, and Cell elongation related genes.
