Abstract
In a recent decade, the method of proteomics has been remarkably extended. A huge volume of data will be accumulated by the proteomic analysis in many laboratories within the next few years. Thus, the database construction on the proteomic research is thought to be very important to achieve the efficient utilization of proteomic information in which all of the protein functions will be assigned on 2-D gel protein maps. The proteome database construction should be progressed in the 3 steps; (a) a private database on a local PC, (b) a group-ware database on an in-house server, (c) a shareware database on an internet web server. In this symposium, various structure and contents of proteome database will be discussed.
