Abstract
The transgenic potato harvoring the mutated rice anthranilate synthase αsubunit gene (OASA1D) was characterized. The expression of OASA1D increased the level of Trp by 2-5 folds in all part of the tissue, by decreasing the AS sensitivity to the feedback inhibition from Trp. The analysis of other metabolite levels by the amino acid anaylsis and by the profiling analysis indicated that an impact of this metabolic alternation on the whole metabolic network was limited. Although the free IAA levels was increaed by 5-folds in the shoot, no effect on the phenotype was observed.
