Abstract
RIKEN BRC was established in 2001 to promote resource project on model organisms. Since 2002, Experimental Plant Division has joined with the National BioResource Project (NBRP) and collects, preserves and distributes Arabidopsis seeds, plant cultured cells and plant DNA. Our major resource is genomic resource of Arabidopsis such as full-length cDNA clone and transposon-tagged line. The Division preserves approx. 330,000 materials and has distributed more than 100,000 materials to the world. Another feature of our activity is the internationality; approx. 70% of user registrations came from foreign countries, and more than a half of laboratories that were provided with our resource are in abroad. We also intend to provide technical support to the domestic researchers by conducting technical training course. We would like to contribute plant research community by promoting resource project not only Arabidopsis but also some other model plant species in near future.
