Abstract
Currently, Arabidopsis researchers are attempting to characterize function of all genes exist in the genome. In order to achieve the aim, genome resources such as full-length cDNA and null mutants have been developed. The major resource of Arabidopsis full-length cDNA is the RAFL clones that were established in RIKEN GSC, and RIKEN BRC has distributed this resource to the world research community. Arabidopsis transposon-tagged lines that were also developed in RIKEN GSC have been also provided from us as the null mutants with high-quality. From this point of view, NBRP greatly supports the international Arabidopsis research community, and thus the contribution of Japan on the promotion of plant research is strongly emphasized. We would like to continue the project to support the international community as well as to develop and improve ecotypes and related species of Arabidopsis that will meet future demand from the research on comparative genomics.
