Abstract
Quantification by mass spectrometry such as GC-MS or LC-MS has been developed to identify metabolites in plants with improved technology. Recently, it is reported the capillary electrophoresis electrospray quadrupole time-of-flight (CE-ESI-QTOF) mass spectrometry is a useful tool to identify plant metabolites, especially for charged species.
In this study, we attempted simultaneous quantitative analysis for metabolites such as various primary metabolites including amino acids, organic acids, organic phosphates or nucleotides in A. thaliana shoot by CE-ESI-QTOF. Quantification of plant hormones in a small amount of materials requires highly sensitive analytical techniques. However, it has been difficult to identify the amount of endogenous plant hormones in plants with the past chemical methodology.
Among plant substances, plant hormones are essential as the regulators for plant morphology and physiological functions.
We also attempted quantification of plant hormones together with primary metabolite in A. thaliana shoot.
