Abstract
As sessile organisms, plants have to adapt to any environmental stresses to survive and preserve species. Plants are speculated to have elaborated system to recognize and response to various environmental changes because plant spread over the surface of this planet in spite of its rather simple body plan.
To gain of insight into the mechanisms of environmental stress response of plant, we have been studying response mechanisms to abscisic acid that is deeply involved in abiotic stress responses. We have shown that that mRNA degradation, protein degradation, and chloroplast development were involved in ABA response through the analysis of AHG2, AHG12, and AHG11, respectively. These results are consistent with the idea that ABA response consists of a large network containing various cellular functions. I would like to shed the light again on the plant strategy for environmental stress response and will discuss over it.
