Abstract
Among transport vesicle responsible for protein trafficking in eukaryotic cells, COPII coated vesicles mediate anterograde transport from endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to Golgi apparatus. The COPII coat complex is compose of small GTPase, Sar1 and 2 types of protein complexes (Sec23/Sec24 complex and Sec13/31 complex). Sec23/Sec24 hetero-dimer recognizes and sorts specific cargo. Sec13/Sec31 hetero-tetramer concentrates cargo and curves ER membrane. Previously, we found Sec31 homologue (ATSEC31A) affect stomata morphology. The ATSEC31A knockout lines showed male sterility caused by defect in dehiscence of anther. So, homologues of another component Sec23 and Sec24 in A.thaliana. are analyzed in this study. By search of database, there is 7 types of Sec23p homologue and 3 types of Sec24p homologue. We named these Sec23 homologues ATSEC23A, ATSEC23B, ATSEC23C, ATSEC23D, ATSEC23E, ATSEC23F and ATSEC23G, respectively. Similarly, Sec24 homologues were named ATSEC24A, ATSEC24B and ATSEC24C. Here, we report result of subcellular localization, expression site and functional analysis by knockout plants for each Sec23 and Sec24 homologues.
