Abstract
The cellular nuclei of Eukaryote have the nuclear matrix as the structure of the skeleton. The matrix is very important to keep the nuclear structure. The recent studies reported that animals have lamin as the main protein of the nuclear matrix. And plants have the protein called NMCP1, instead of lamin. However, the main protein of the nuclear matrix of fungi has not be identified yet. So we first prepared the nuclear matrix in Aspergillus oryzae and got pure matrix. Then, we analyzed the main protein of the matrix. In the result, we could get proteins whose weight were about 20-50 kDa. The range of their molecular weights was less than those of animals and plants. Moreover, analyzing that on the database, we could not see the homology with lamin of animals. The result suggests that the protein composing the nuclear matrix in fungi is different from those of animals and plants and that eukaryote have different nuclear matrix respectively.
