Abstract
GramineaeTFDB provides access to transcription factor (TF) repertoires of the newly sequenced B. distachyon (v1.0) and maize (v4a.53). In addition, GramineaeTFDB contains all the potential TFs, which were identified using full-length cDNA resources, from wheat and barley, whose complete genome sequences are not yet available. Furthermore, the well-known TF repertoires from rice and sorghum were also integrated into GramineaeTFDB to aid comparative genomics of TFs of grass species. Significant information for each TF gene and family, including sequence features, domain alignments, gene ontology assignment and data derived from sequence comparison as well as cross-references to various public databases are accessible on GramineaeTFDB. Our database also supplies promoter and known cis-motif information for all the identified TFs of sequenced grass species which may aid in functional prediction. GramineaeTFDB provides an important user-friendly public resource for gene regulatory networks and comparative genomics, and understanding of the architecture of transcriptional regulatory networks and evolution of the TFs in agriculturally important cereal crops.
