Abstract
Acaryochloris is defined as a unique cyanobacterial genus that possesses Chl d. We assigned Chl d dimer to the special pair based on results by absorption change and FT-IR spectroscopy using highly purified samples. We also reported that the redox potential of primary electron donor (Pheo a) in A. marina was positive shifted by 0.08 eV than that in Synechocystis. Therefore, we confirmed that special pair was composed of Chl d. Delayed fluorescence, however, is still present in the Chl a region in purified PS II complexes. Therefore, the pigment composition of PS II reaction center complex is still under debate. In this study, we modified a purification procedure and almost removed CP43 and CP47. This sample showed a characteristic absorption band of Pheo a. The pigment composition of purified PS II is now in progress.
