Abstract
The reviewed model deformation has been analysed and as a conclusion it appears that it is a good approximation if a stereo-model is regarded as a model having different scales in the three direction of model space.
The well known orthogonal transformation formulas have been modified to incorporate the different scales. The result is a more complicated transformation equation which may not be a disadvantage if high-speed computing technique is employed.
The examined practical examples reveals that the improvement in accuracy of determined ground coordinates using the more complicated traneformation, is about 10-25 percent, compared to the conventional transformation. The final conclusion, therefore, is that use of the proposed transformation may represent some value particularle in numerical cadastre.
