Abstract
Recent advance of the structural engineering requires the experimental analysis of the big scale structure based on the far more accurate measurements than those taken in the conventional way. In this respect, the analytical terrestrial photogrammetry has been remarked as an effective method of the accurate three dimensional measurement. Dr. H. M. Karara reported in his paper, “On the precision of stereometric systems”that the analytical data process of the stereoscopic photographs taken with the convergent angle of about 60 degrees and base-high ratio about 1: 1 gave the best result in precision both from the mathematical model of simulation and from the experiments. However, the analytical method ever developed was simply derived from that of the analytical aerial photogrammetry. On the contrary, we have developed a new analytical method taking the particular property of the terrestrial photogrammetry into consideration. The main aimes of this method are;
1. to make higher the precision of the measurement by the analytical approaches.
2. to make possible the analysis of the convergence photogrammetry using the digital computer so that we can choose positions and directions of the stereometric camera without regard to the constraints of the plotter.
3. to enable to consider the weight of the precisions of the ground control survey.
