Abstract
As a method of environmental research, remote sensing has a great advantage to collect informations widely and simultaneously. Actual measurements and sampling in the fields require much labour, so it is desired that remote sensing will establtsh the method of the efficient research and the continuous monitoring system. Then, we have studied the relation between water quality and its image on the photograph as a primary step.
Mainly by utilizing multispectral aerial photographs and ground truth data, we found some correlations. As to the organic pollution, it has satisfactory correlation between film density of IR-band, while there is the close correlation between film density of R-band and the muddy water such as a flood which includes many pieces of inorganic soil.
