Abstract
Sequential adjustment procedure is practically used for usual aerial triangulation in Japan and orientation elements in plotting instruments are quickly supplied by use of electronic computers. In this paper, nonlinear transformation is distinguished from Helmert transformation, and nonlinear transformation is only applied to correct a minor deformation. A strict solution, approximate solutions and approximate computation procedures are reviewed, then a suitable method of computation will be able to find out when it will be necessary to adjust photographs taken under various unusual conditions.
