A Study on Fax-transmission of Landsat Imagery for Sea-ice monitoring

Abstract

In this report the authors examined the technical effictiveness of transmitting Landsat imagery by fax for sea ice monitoring. According to the gradation reproducibility limitation of fax, usually, some information reduction occurs in the fax output imagery. The authors proved that, by carefull control of the density level of Landsat imagery, the sea ice infomation can be sent effectively by the fax transmission.
