Abstract

This paper reviews the bundle adjustments in non-topographic photogrammetry using non-metric cameras. Unlike the bundle adjustments using metric cameras, many factors that should be considered increase, i.e., dependency or independency of unknown parameters, possibility of their direct observation, camera performances and exposure configurations, etc., because these factors influence both accuracy and stability in evaluation of object space coordinates. These factors are detailed in relation to stability of the least squanes solutions.
On account of the large volume of the paper, part (I) only describes how to set up observation equations, followed by the treatment of additional parameters, least squares solutions and resulting strength of the network configuration of photogrammetry and conventional surveying, etc.
