Abstract

Various analyses are becoming possible in the area of disaster prevention by systematically combining the remote sensing and GIS. Namely, by adding the function of GIS to the remote sensing, it has become possible to carry out the overlay analysis of the images by the unit of pixel. As a result, the image processing which had been confined to grasping of post disaster situations from the remote sensing data has made it possible to analyze the information of causes of the disasters, and even an attempt has been made to classify the hazards to what extent they may cause disasters. By putting this disaster prevention information to GIS, they may have high utility and can be used as the supporting information for disaster prevention plan.
This paper will describe the attempts towards the high utilization of disaster prevention data extracted by image analysis and the example of its application.
