Abstract
The present paper proposes a method for speeding up geometric correction of AVHRR data. Due to the size of AVHRR imagery, the bilinear interpolation is used to speed up geometric corrcction procedure here. The size of interpolated block has to be determined. In this paper, AVHRR's spot size from sean pattern is calculated. The optimal interpolated block size can be detetmined from the AVHRR's spot size. From experimental result, the optimal block size is: 16×16 (LatLong.) for the map coordinate, and 16×8 (Line×4Pixel) for the image coordinate Finally, a remarkable improvement of the precision and the processing time for the proposed method in this paper is described.
