Abstract
Stability of amino acids and related compounds against radiation, impacts and heat was examined. Complex amino acid precursors formed from a mixture of CO, NH3 and H2O by proton irradiation showed much higher stability than free amino acids. Complex interstellar organic compounds were promising as a source of the first terrestrial biosphere for their stability in space and in hydrothermal systems of primitive Earth.
