Abstract
We observed the impact phenomenon of Comet Tempel on July 3, 2005 with a ultra-high-sensitivity HDTV I.I. color camera which was developed by National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK). From 30 frames/sec movie data around the impact time, it is confirmed that the beginning time of brightening was within 10 seconds after the impact light arrival on the earth. The result is consistent with the preliminary value by United Kingdom Infrared Telescope at the summit of Mauna Kea. This research also has important aspects of outreach and publicity; we have released a captured image from the movie on the same day of the impact, and also put a digest movie itself on the Subaru Telescope website.
