Abstract
Recently medical ontology has been emergent in order to support communication and knowledge use in medical settings. Ontology in medical settings enables to find it easy to exchange the meaning and the contents between multiple intelligent agents, and can contribute to reduce the medical communication errors. Whereas the word “ontology” has been covered a wide area, this paper reviews and discusses several ontological studies related to medical knowledge in terms of the meaning/content exchange for safer medical communication.
