Abstract

This study investigates reticulated frameworks based on hanging forms inspired by Isler’s inverted membrane model. It evaluates the bending moment and buckling resistance of steel latticed shells with two grid orientations: vertical and horizontal, and diagonal. A simplified geometrical nonlinear elastic analysis is proposed to generate efficient structural forms without specialized tools. The research also explores how element arrangement affects the structural behavior of steel latticed shells with free boundaries.
