Abstract

In this study, elemental tests were conducted on the retrofitted exposed column base to evaluate the strengths. The findings are summarized below. [1] It was found that the cracking strength could be evaluated using the formula for cone fracture. [2] In the case of failure at the anchorage, the maximum strength can be evaluated by the sum of the cone fracture, 70% of yield strength of column reinforcement and the dowel effect. On the other hand, in the case of failure at the interface, the maximum strength can be evaluated using the shear stresses obtained in previous studies. [3] The residual strength can be evaluated as the sum of the post- installed anchors and the column reinforcement that yield after failure.
