In recent years, Steels for Bridge High-performance Structure(SBHS) has been standardized in the Japanese Industrial Standards, but not in Specifications for Highway Bridges. Compared to steel materials standardized in Specifications for Highway Bridges, there is limited information available regarding SBHS700. Using high-strength steel enables the construction of bridges with longer spans. In this study, axial compression tests were conducted on cruciform stub-columns made of SBHS700 and HW885. Based on the information obtained both experimentally and analytically, evaluation formulas for the load-carrying capacity of outstanding plates of SBHS700 and HW885 were proposed.
