Abstract
Today's food consumption shows a drastic change in the way of cooking are in the kitchen as pre-cooked bought meals called 'nakashoku' are becoming very popular. Some social elements, like the increasing number of independent women, nuclear families and the eldery are closely connected with it. This study aims at developing a new type of kitchen system corresponding to a new diet style. Future diet trends based on 'nakashoku' will allow a return to an age of simpler cooking and dining customs. The minimum kitchen set will allow reduction in the side of the kitchen leaning more room left over for other domestic activities.
