Abstract
This paper proposed a guide that is essential in order to design toilet space. By investigating the questionnaire about toilet and implementing the factor analysis, it was cleared that the youngster and the antediluvian give a kind of priority to sanitation and habitability, respectively. Furthermore, design elements that compose image of toilet space were extracted with the repertory grid technique. As a result, the calmness and the cleanness were selected as the elements that locate in the highest class. The former was needed at all generation, while the necessity of the latter depended on the generations. It was suggested that the toilet design to have considered the generations and the preference was needed.
