Abstract
From 1928 to 1929,Josef Albers directed the Furniture Workshop of the Bauhaus and executed an armchair in bent laminated wood, called Model Ti244,for industrial production. Ti244 incorporated the economical form that Albers stressed in his basic design course. At that time the Bauhaus proposed the People's House with the aim of providing a low-cost apartment. The People's House was furnished with Ti244,and Ti244 became one of the representative productions of the Bauhaus under the Hannes Meyer period.
