Abstract
It is investigated to what extent a user can operate an electric apparatus without manual information based on the case study using a "Tapewriter(an apparatus making a label)". First, it was studied user's understanding a word written on the panel of the apparatus. Then the obstacle factors for operation were examined experimentally by the task of label making. The results show some important factors for the operation without manual information.
