Abstract
A purpose of this research is to find the feature of the design development of Japanese home electronics by studying history with the design of electric fan. We considered about the design development case of the electric fan in Mitsubishi Electric co. at the Showa latter period, and noticed the following things.The shape of the electric fan of each company had almost become same, so Mitsubishi Electric co. devised the way to store electric fan more compactly. First,they adopted the method of the packing after fan had been taken apart. Next, they created the method of folding the main body of fan. These methods were accepted to the market of electric fan in Japan.
