Abstract
In recent years, the structure of the town near the station such as Roppongi or Shiodome in the metropolitan area has changed significantly by a large-scale redevelopment. Also similar plans for the future are progressing. However residents often oppose such the development, because it is possible to erase the characteristics of town First, the characteristics of town are clarified also it is important with the common recognition regardless of the presence of the development plan. In this research, it focuses boundary for clarifying of characteristic of town.It is assumed that boundary to be viewed as a place to change the characteristics of each town. It has been researched that road configurations and study the terrain for action research and interviewing with subjects at the boundary of Shimokitazawa and Daikanyama. As the result, boundary has been recognized to each town. boundary element to determine the different possibilities is suggested by town.
