Abstract
In this study we examined the feasibility of an alternative approach for relationship-building and place-creation through its process. The study is based on the experience we gained from a local community projects called 'Land and Human Design Project: Creating a guesthouse (Nagoya University of Arts)'. In this project, place and local relationships were created simultaneously through the process of research. This process made the space more familiar for the local residents. This study also focuses on that, by making a guesthouse from accumulation of local resources, the local values are understood by visitors through their experiences.
