Abstract
To develop students' skills in finding and solving problems, we held a design workshop focused on science-fiction movies. The students' task was to create some prototypes of tools or services that would be used in the movie, and then to make a presentation of their work, involving role-play. We provided the students with "miniascape boards" as a tool to help them think and share ideas. Students considered from the perspective of people in the movie, so they were able to make prototypes that would be used in this world. It became clear that using the world of movies as a workshop theme, which is far removed from everyday life, could compensate for students' inexperience regarding the skills.
