Abstract
Recently, many universities work cooperative projects with local community. These projects are expected to revitalize local community and to develop human resource (students and community residents). However, as most of these projects are prearranged by universities, it doesn't become sufficient opportunities for student to act independently. “Old-style House Renovation Project in Bessho Hot Springs District” is completely independent activity by a university student. Therefore, this case indicates the significance of holistic involvement in the project and the challenge of uncertain purpose, task and achievement for the student.
