Design of Local Currency to Contribute to Endogenous Regional Development

Based on the Classification of Local Currency that Has Been Practiced in Japan

Abstract

 In recent years, the vicious cycle between population decline and the Abandonment of resources is aggravated in rural areas. On behalf of the Exogenous Development, which is difficult to stop this vicious cycle, Endogenous Development is expected now. It suggests that communities are more likely to remain cohesive and sustain their traditions, cultures, and natural resources, and base their plans on the resources available within the community. This paper is an attempt to make a design of Local Currency to contribute to Endogenous Regional Development, Which is based on the classification of Local Currency that has been practiced in Japan.
