Abstract
This research applied the approach of participatory action research to undertake a cross-border workshop – the ‘Disaster Prevention & Reconstruction + Design Workshop’. The focus of this research is comparing and contrasting the design strategies between Taiwanese participants and Japanese participants. The result indicates that Japanese participants seemed to focus on the aspect of humanity and emotions whereas Taiwanese participants seemed to focus on the aspect of function.
