Abstract
Tactile map that support tool for the visually impaired person is used braille and tactile symbols. They can recognize the position as escalator or elevator by touching the tactile symbol and braille. But many of the visually impaired can’t read braille because learning rate of braille is low. Also confusing tactile map to touch is increasing, and some tactile symbol is difficult to understand even for non-handicapped person. This study clarified the effectiveness of current tactile symbols and considered about easy to understand representation.
