Abstract
The study aims to determine the basic styling preferences of the wooden carving sculptors .The existence of ‘Imaginary circle’ hidden in the wave of Ihachi and‘ Imaginary ball’ hidden in the dragon of Yoshimitsu are detected. According to the result of k-means cluster analysis to the normal vectors of all polygons of 3D models, ‘Wave styling by 2.5D lamination’ and ‘Dragon body styling concentrated on  mass’ are proved to be the styling preference of Ihachi and Yoshimitsu.
