Development of a video projection tool for distraction

In cooperative research with the Aichi Children’s Health and Medical Center, we developed a distraction system using video projection. We have conducted video projection in operating rooms and other locations. In this study, we are focusing on the treatment rooms of the neurosurgical and neurological wards. In that room, the children have to stay still during the procedure, and the procedure takes from 10 minutes to 1 hour. We developed a tool to project images using a tablet and a mobile projector as a distraction for children undergoing treatment.We report on the development and results of this tool.
