In order to facilitate the distinction between tactile figures and the understanding of the story, touching picture books using real objects are the proposal of this research. Attention has been paid to the thickness and weight of the real material used for picture book production in order to induce operations such as grasping and lifting. Evaluation by the visually impaired found that the thickness and weight helped to understand the shape and structure compared to those without them, and also helped to distinguish between tactile drawings. This research made it possible to propose an improvement in the expressiveness of the picture book to be touched.
