Abstract

This research is a study of a floor-mat type audience-participation video production system that aims to improve the relationship between Disk Jockey (hereafter DJ), Video Jockey, and audience members at DJ events, and to promote the formation of communication among them. In the proposed prototype, an internal pressure sensor detects when an audience member steps on and off the prototype and changes the output video. The evaluation experiment showed that the participation in the video production triggers active and positive participation in the DJ event and communication among the audience. We believe that more complex contact detection of the pressure sensor can be expected to further promote communication.
