The purpose of this study was to create a tactile media that allows users to feel that they are actively touching the music. The author produced several tactile media prototypes and tactile media playback devices, and actually touched the prototypes myself using the playback devices. From the actual tactile experience, the author hypothesized three requirements for a shape that makes users feel as if they are actively touching the music. This paper describes the progress of the research to date and points for future improvement.
