Sensory Sharing between Instructor and Learner in Taijiquan

Focusing on the transmission of the concept of “Qi” using metaphors

Abstract

This study is about the sensory sharing of embodied knowledge between instructors and learners during Taijiquan instruction. Focusing particularly on the transmission of " Qi," based on interviews with instructors and the author's learning experiences, the study revealed that metaphoric language plays an important role in this process. In addition, we visualized these languages and discussed how they could be further shared.
