Two sides of care worker’s willingness to improve work through design process experiences

Abstract

This paper introduces a result of work improvement workshops conducted with care workers as well as discussions on their motivation of the improvement. The 17 workshops for a year resulted in failure to launch the work improvement. A review workshop revealed that they are too cautious to step forward although they learned the importance of understanding users, paying more attention to users and information sharing among workers. The review result suggests a design for putting ideas into action based on what they have learned.
