Abstract

In this research, by incorporating visual complement elements into the assembly process to resolve perplexity of complex assembly task on the user, an experiment was conducted which aimed to assess how spatial recognition being affected to make the users’ viewpoint conscious during assembly process. Three types of graphical information using visual completion were added to the parts of a joint assembly puzzle and assembly process of 8 participants was observed. As a result, joint model that uses alphabetic character graphic as a stimulus information can make people aware of the point of view more quickly than uses graphical pattern elements. Furthermore, it was speculated that when visual complementary elements are used as stimulus information during assembly process, placing position and the outline of the presented figure of graphical information, will have further affects with the user's spatial recognition.
