Current status survey of communication and urban installation design focusing on smart poles and related street furniture

Abstract

This study examines the development and classification of smart poles and related infrastructure as a fusion of mobile networks and street furniture. With the advent of 5G, the need for densely installed base stations in public spaces has led to innovative designs that blend functionality with urban aesthetics. The research focuses on categorizing these installations, assessing their impact on cityscapes, and exploring future designs that could enrich public spaces and integrate with advanced urban systems like traffic management and augmented reality technologies.
