Abstract

In this study, through interviews with community members, we have elucidated that the positioning and roles of takers vary depending on the level of community participation. While takers have traditionally been perceived as troublesome within communities, it has been revealed that takers with lower levels of participation are a key factor for the community to be active and sustainable. Furthermore, it has been observed that takers may transition into givers when there is active involvement from other community members as their level of participation increases.
